Floating shelves work because of what you cannot see. Each Valdo shelf comes pre drilled with a pair of keyhole hanging brackets already attached, so once it is on the wall there is no visible support underneath and the timber appears to sit in the wall itself.
Oak, finished with organic oils and a water based varnish that gives it damp resistance, so it holds up in a bathroom or a kitchen as well as above a desk. Each shelf measures 58 x 14.5 x 2.2cm and carries up to 15kg, which covers books, framed photographs, small plants and the usual clutter of a workspace wall.
Installation needs a pencil, a tape measure and a drill or screwdriver; screws and wall plugs are supplied. Any shelf is strongest fixed directly into wall studs, so find them where you can. Available as a pair or as four. Real timber varies in grain and tone between pieces.
